A memory from 1956…I was a boy rating on the Orient Liner SS Orontes…I will always remember the call below decks San Toy…or “San Toy ye bas” (short for bastard)..a fair number of Glasgow seaman were crew members..they ran things, but never bothered boy ratings !!
